Some interesting superstitions I though I should share:
If you eat a live toad first thing in the morning, nothing worse will happen to you all day. The breath of a wolf can cook meat. A horseshoe hung in the bedroom will keep nightmares away. If a young girl catches a ladybug and then releases it, the direction in which it flies will be the direction from which her future husband will come. Bees deliberately sting those who swear in front of them, adulterers or unchaste people. If a bat lands on your head, you should hope the cricket sees rain coming because the bat won't leave until it hears thunder. If you see nine cows in a shed, all lying on the same side, with a gray bull next to the door, you will be granted one wish. It's bad luck to say the words "pig" or "cat" while fishing at sea.
